The City of Coweta has reopened Highway 51B from Highway 72 to Guthrie Street after investigating a suspicious device. A caller reported seeing a pipe on the ground at a car wash shortly before noon Tuesday.
The "all clear" came around 1:20 p.m. after the device was found not to be an explosive.
A daycare, an elementary school and a local business sheltered in place as a precaution while the investigation was underway.
Wagoner County Emergency Manager Heath Underwood said the pipe had tape on both ends. Coweta Police, Fire and Wagoner County Emergency Management responded, and a Tulsa Bomb Squad tech was called in to check it out.
