A Tulsa woman is recovering after deputies said she drove her car into a drainage ditch and was stranded for several hours. Tulsa County Sheriff's Office deputies said they found the woman's PT Cruiser in a drainage area at the bottom of an embankment in the 3800 block of West Easton.
Friends and family told News On 6 they had been searching for her for almost 10 hours when they saw her car near the creek and called out her name. A Tulsa County deputy was driving by, so they flagged him down for help.
"We started yelling for her, and then we heard her calling out a little bit," a family member said.
Family and friends believe a medical issue may have caused the woman to become disoriented. She had some bumps and bruises but is expected to be OK. The woman was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
