It has been since 2015 since Jenks High School has won a state title. The team returns 22 seniors, but only 6 returning starters 3 on offense and 3 on defense.
One of those seniors has big dreams off the Field.
Plenty of new faces for Jenks this season, one bright spot will be senior tailback Will Cox who is a three-year starter for the Trojans and his body of work is already getting him noticed by a handful of Ivy League Schools.
“I went up to Columbia and Princeton this summer and I have talked to Harvard and Cornell a little bit,” said Senior running back Will Cox.
It's not just football as Cox has big dreams of building skyscrapers by becoming an architect.
“Whenever I go to New York City looking at all the historic architecture I think it's awesome. I’ve always kind of liked building things even if it was Legos when I was younger,” said Cox.
That building mindset has also translated onto to the grid-iron.
“You got to lay one brick at a time to build a wall and you look at it as the big picture, we are trying to win a state championship that's the cathedral.”
Jenks begins the season on the road against Mansfield Legacy on August 29.
