Crash In Rogers County Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Others Injured

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says one person is dead and several others are in the hospital after a crash in Rogers County.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. August 11 just off Highway 66 between Foyil and Sequoyah .

Investigators with OHP say the GMC Sierra ran off the road, over-corrected and went into a ditch before hitting a tree.

Four people were thrown from the truck, and troopers say 47-year-old Nicole Estes died at the scene. The Claremore woman was a passenger in the vehicle , an OHP collision report states.

The other three people are in the hospital. 

The collision report says the driver, 46-year-old Billy S. Hemphill of Claremore, suffered injuries to the head and torso. Passenger Bertha Turpin of Claremore is in critical condition from her injuries.

A third passenger was treated and is out of the hospital.

OHP said they are investigation the condition of the driver before the crash, the cause of the collision and whether the occupants of the Sierra were wearing seat belts.
