Rogers County deputies said they were diverting traffic on Highway 169 near Talala because of an accident involving a semi and a car but they say there was one driver who refused to listen.
The sheriff said Zachary Vaughan drove through the crash scene near 300 Road, then another deputy tried to get him to stop but he hit that deputy with the side mirror of his car. Rogers County deputies say they eventually got Vaughan to stop but he got out of the car and tried to pick a fight with law enforcement.
Deputies said they wrestled Vaughan to the ground and took him into custody. He's being treated at the hospital before being booked into jail.
Sheriff Scott Walton said his team is dealing with more people resisting arrest lately, but he says that's never a good idea.
"We're going to win that fight. Whatever it takes, we have to be successful in that," said Walton.
Sheriff Walton says the deputy who was hit suffered minor injuries.
