Union Public Schools is inviting parents to learn more about possible plans that would change where some students go to elementary school.

The district is hosting a meeting Tuesday night to talk with parents about changing elementary school boundaries.

Union Public Schools says the change would affect 250 students to help ease overcrowding at three elementary schools.

Union says it built Ellen Ochoa Elementary to help reduce high classroom sizes at Boevers, Clark and Rosa Parks elementary schools, and with the second half of Ellen Ochoa set to open next fall, the district would like to shift some students around.

The district says the plan would affect 59 Boevers students, 104 students at Rosa Parks and 108 Clark students.

At this point it's just a proposal, but the school board is set to vote on the plan February 11th. If approved, the changes would go into effect starting in the fall.

Tuesday night’s meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the Ellen Ochoa Elementary School gym, 12000 East 31st Street.
