Union High School's manufacturing and automotive program is killing two birds with one stone this holiday season.
Students are practicing their maintenance skills on dozens of bikes that will be donated to fellow students when repairs are finished.
"This is a true service learning exercise, we're not picking up trash off the street, we're actually utilizing skills that we've learned in class to give back to our community," said Don Crall with the Union Certified Production Technician Program.
When the bikes have been restored to top shape they will be decorated for Christmas with bows and personalized cards then delivered to Union students in mid-December.
