Okmulgee County District Attorney Passes Away

Folks are remembering Okmulgee County District Attorney Rob Barris.

Barris, who served in the DA's office for District 25, which includes Okmulgee and McIntosh counties for more 30 years, had been the DA for the past eight years.  He died Saturday, October 6th following a brief illness.  He was 61.

Barris is survived by his wife of 36 years and a daughter.

Monday, Okmulgee County law enforcement escorted his body to Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral home.

Barris' funeral service will be Thursday, October 11th at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee.  Interment will take place at the Okmulgee Cemetery immediately following the service.
