Food and the fair go together like peanut butter and jelly - if it were deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Once a year, we chuck the diet and go all in with fair food. You have the more common foods – onion rings and fresh-made chips and corn dogs. Then there’s the more interesting – funnel fingers, fried olives and a grilled cheese donut.

Outside on the midway, I was introduced to Dragon's Breath - small balls of puffed cereal quick frozen in liquid nitrogen, stabbed with a stick, dipped in some flavoring and then you blow a little smoke.

Then I found Steve Demars who had strawberries on a stick dipped in waffle, deep fried, and chocolate.

All food you can, or maybe should, eat only once a year.
