Oklahoma Health Department Offering Free Flu Shots

It is that time of year again.

Starting Monday, October 1, the State Department of Health will be offering flu vaccines with no out-of-pocket costs.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is offering the vaccines at all county health department locations.

The flu vaccine is recommended each year for everyone 6 months and older. The interim health commissioner is stressing just how devastating the last flu season was - with 291 deaths.

Oklahoma County and Tulsa County residents should check with their city-county health departments.

If you do have insurance - bring your card to prove coverage.

The flu vaccines will be offered while supplies last to anyone over the age of 6 months on a walk-in basis Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following Tulsa Health Department locations:

  • James O. Goodwin Health Center, 5051 S. 129 E. Ave.
  • Central Regional Health Center, 315 S. Utica
  • North Regional Health and Wellness Center, 5635 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The flu vaccine will also be offered at the following locations:

  • Collinsville Community Health Center, 1201 W. Center  - Call 918-596-8650 for clinic dates and times
  • Sand Springs Health Center, 306 E. Broadway - Call 918-591-6100 for clinic dates and times
