The City of Tulsa is warning those attending this year's Tulsa State Fair you could be fined or your vehicle towed for illegally parking in neighborhoods surrounding the Tulsa County Fairgrounds.

Parking is a problem every year in those neighborhoods and police say you could face a fine up to $60 and your vehicle towed at your own expense.  Officers say the city will again strictly enforce parking regulations.  That list includes:

  • Within 10 feet of fire hydrants
  • In yards (on lawn/grass)
  • Between curbs and sidewalks and on sidewalks
  • In “TOW AWAY ZONE” areas
  • In “NO PARKING DURING STATE FAIR DATES” areas

Police say if you park legally it not only helps congestion, but keeps the street clear for emergency vehicles.

They ask if you see illegal parking, call the Tulsa Police's non-emergency number at 918-596-9222 and report it.

Aside from onsite parking at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds, the Tulsa State Fair offers free shuttles from four locations:

  • Tulsa Promenade Mall - 4107 South Yale Avenue (South Side of Garage)
  • Nathan Hale High School - 6920 East 21st Street
  • Tulsa Public Schools Education Service Center - 3027 South New Haven Avenue
  • OSU Tulsa Campus - 700 North Greenwood (Parking Lot A, East of Campus)
