The lawsuit, filed by former TCSO Major Tom Huckeby, alleged that Huckeby was forced to resign and that he was used as a scapegoat by the Sheriff’s Office after Reserve Deputy Robert Bates shot and killed Eric Harris in 2015.

The lawsuit also alleged that, under former sheriff Stanley Glanz, TCSO followed a “policy or custom of protecting Reserve Deputies and other high ranking TCSO officials to the detriment of others … created and implemented a hostile and retaliatory environment.”

The lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice on September 5, 2018, by stipulation of all parties.
