John 3:16 Mission Hosts Block Party For The Homeless In Tulsa

The 20th annual “Block Party For the Homeless” was Saturday night in downtown Tulsa.

John 3:16 Mission put the party together at Cheyenne and Easton. The event featured live music, games, and free food.

Reverend Whitaker with John 3:16 says the homeless don't usually get to take part in events like this but deserve to have their hope restored.

"We've been doing this a long time and it's a compassionate outreach for people who are homeless that don't otherwise get to be a part of all the great things we're doing in our community," said Rev. Whitaker.

John 3:16 staff says this is also an opportunity for staff and volunteers to offer safe shelter to the homeless and start to get people off the streets permanently.
