A Muskogee teenager is in a Tulsa hospital after being hit by a pickup truck.
Police say it happened at R Street and Okmulgee. They say the 13-year-old boy ran out into the street in front of the car. Witnesses told police the boy looked east but not west before running into traffic.
The pickup was headed eastbound. Police said there didn't appear to be any violations by the driver.
The teen was alert when he was taken to the hospital, police say.
Muskogee Public Schools said administration has been in communication with the teen's parents and said he is in "stable condition."
The district is offering counseling to students at Alice Robertson Junior High School where the district said the injured student attends. Muskogee Public Schools said anyone wanting counseling can contact the school counselor, an administrator or a teacher.
