St. John Health System Partners With 'Reach Out And Read'

St. John Health System is partnering with the non-profit organization Reach Out and Read to incorporate books with pediatric care. The program encourages families to read together by providing books to children while they get medical exams.

Parents say it's a great way to help kids feel comfortable when visiting the doctor.

"It was perfect today because he got interested with the book, and he relaxed and enjoyed it," said mom Alina Alekseieva.

St. John is donating more than 5,000 books in English and Spanish this year. Patients are allowed to take the books home.
