TPD: Robbers Identify Themselves As Police, Kick In Apartment Door

Tulsa Police are looking for two armed robbers they say identified themselves as police before breaking into an apartment.

Officers said they responded to the Westminster Apartments in the 7300 block of East 48th Street at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018.

Police said a man and woman were in the apartment when they heard knocking on the door. They said two people yelled “Police” then kicked in their door.

The victims told police two men entered the apartment, each with a gun, and demanded jewelry and a wallet before they left.

No one was injured.

Officers are looking for the robbers, who they describe as two black men between 18 and 24 years old. Police said one is about 6-feet-four-inches tall with a slim build and the other was shorter with a thin build. Police said both wore dark-colored clothing and dark-colored bandanas over their faces.
