Dozens of businesses will take part in the state's first medical marijuana business expo. This comes less than two months after voters decided to legalize medical marijuana.
The expo happens at the Greenwood Cultural Center, and more than 70 vendors will be there Thursday and Friday.
The Oklahoma Cannabis Business Alliance led the charge for creating the expo.
They said several speakers hope to educate people about how medical marijuana works and how it can stimulate the economy statewide.
Organizers said there will be lessons on business law, scientific research and how medical marijuana can affect mental and behavioral health.
The alliance said there's a specific reason they wanted to have the expo in the Greenwood district.
"This is where something happened before that was tragic, and now we have something new that's happening that we can celebrate,” said Perry Jones III with the Oklahoma Cannabis Business Alliance.
The event is free and goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
