A man is in jail accused of stealing credit cards and postage stamps.
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found hundreds of credit cards and stamps in John Williams’ car.
They say Williams has an extensive criminal history and is wanted for similar crimes in other states.
“They’re looking for ways to take the money out of your bank account, liquidate it into a form they can use,” said Lieutenant Ron Walker. “In this case, the gentleman is driving all over the country going to post offices.”
Investigators say at least 30 victims have been identified so far and they still have hundreds of cards left to sort through. They later said Williams will be booked on 165 counts of possession of a credit card belonging to another, 32 counts of false making or embossing of credit or debit cards and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
