The owner of a classic car is searching for the man who stole it.
Antonio Love says his 1986 Monte Carlo has a lot of sentimental value and he’s hoping someone has seen it and can help him find out what happened.
“I had been wanting a 2-door Monte Carlo and I think I lucked out finding that one,” he said.
But the car he finally tracked down and bought last March has been stolen.
“Come out of work to go to the car for something and realized it’s not there – with my keys in my hand,” said Love.
Since it was taken, Love found pictures of the car going out of the parking lot and backtracked to find images of a man hanging around the gate.
The police also have these pictures, but Love says he believes his car is probably already in pieces.
“I just don’t know his name, that’s the part that eats me up right now,” he said. “There’s really nothing I can do from my standpoint. I know I’ll never get the car back, but I just want him caught. You shouldn’t be able to get away with things like that.”
He says the car is a classic, but it meant a lot more to him than that and it cost him a lot to lose it. He also says all of his fishing equipment was in the trunk, which was worth an additional $400 or $500.
If you’ve seen the car, police ask that you call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
