Some Oklahomans are preparing to help as Hurricane Florence moves toward the Carolinas.
Florence is currently a category four storm and could get stronger as it gets closer.
Timmons Oil Company in Tulsa is part of a nationwide emergency response group.
The company plans on sending four trucks to help with hurricane relief. They will be stationed in Georgia about 100 miles from the coast until they are called in to help with fueling efforts.
“We are so thankful that we’re a part of this,” said Senior Vice President Todd Collier. “We’ve gone on several of these emergency responses and we know that we’re helping folks out by sending these trucks down.”
Florence will become the first major hurricane to hit North Carolina since Fran in 1996.
