An old Tulsa fire station is up for sale in west Tulsa.
Realtors say this is one of the most popular properties on the Tulsa real estate market right now.
Along Charles Page Boulevard you’ll find old Fire Station Number 13.
“Really, a signature art deco piece of which we have many here in Tulsa, and this is one of them that’s been largely forgotten about,” said John Beasley with Exit Realty. “I have really been excited about the interest in this building.”
Built in 1931 by Tulsa architect A.J. Love, this art deco fire station has been used as storage for the past two decades.
Beasley says he’s now looking for the right buyer who will respect the historical and architectural importance of the building.
“This building is significant, both as a civic structure, because of the architect, and just the design of this building,” he said.
He says the 2,155 square foot building is in desperate need of some TLC.
“This is a long-term project. This is not something that somebody is going to flip in the next two months,” said Beasley. “This is going to take a lot of effort by whoever purchases this building to rehab it to what they need it for.”
The sale of this fire station is just the beginning of the revitalization of the area. Many neighbors say they’re looking forward to what’s to come.
“I think that would be great,” said neighbor Cannon Schroeder. “Pick up this place a little bit, rebuild it…families could move in here and have a better community thriving.”
Beasley says “we can start to change the nature of what’s going on along this stretch of Charles Page Boulevard.
