A post on a neighbors social media page caused confusion about a possible abduction in Broken Arrow.
The post claims there have been multiple kidnapping attempts, including one Sunday.
The post states a father was looking for kidnappers who had just tried to kidnap his daughter in the area of 121st and Elm. It also claims there were two other kidnapping attempts in the same neighborhood and "cops were called."
Monday morning Broken Arrow Police said while the post had spread widely on social media, no one had reported an incident to them. They said they didn't have any confirmed statements or evidence that a kidnapping attempted has actually occurred, but they were investigating what information they have.
On Tuesday afternoon, a man who said he's the father involved in the incident contacted News On 6. He said he didn't call police because he flagged down an officer who called in the information to dispatch and who then went looking for the people responsible for the incident.
The man told News On 6 police have since assigned a detective to the case and News On 6 confirmed that with police.
