25 Elite bomb-sniffing dogs and their handlers gathered at the Oklahoma City fairgrounds to take the ATF's national test for explosive detection.

For certification, K-9's must correctly identify ten different types of explosives, choosing the correct cans from a ring filled with decoys.

“Some of the dogs and agencies here don’t have access to the explosives that are used in the real world threats these days, so we are here to make sure that they can find those,” said ATF K9 Trainer Cody Monday.

ATF agents say they use current bomb trends to decide which compounds to use.
