Two women were killed in a crash on westbound Muskogee Turnpike near Coweta.
The wreck happened the morning of July 4th at around 8:00 a.m.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a pickup rear-ended a smaller car, killing the two women inside.
Troopers are working to figure out what caused the crash, but say the two people in the pickup are okay.
“I’m pretty sure no alcohol was involved. I don’t have any indicators of that,” said Trooper Kenny Knight.
Knight says the deadly crash serves as a reminder to be extra careful out on the roads, especially when so many folks are out during the busy holiday.
“You gotta pay attention,” he said.
The names of the women haven’t been released while OHP works to notify their families.
In downtown Tulsa, troopers stayed busy on the scene of another crash.
They say a car and SUV collided and they’re hearing conflicting stories of what happened.
Troopers say no one was injured in that crash.
Troopers urge drivers to use caution.
