Fatal Crash Closes Highway 20 At Keetonville Hill

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver of a car is dead after hitting a pickup trailer on Highway 20 early Wednesday west of Claremore.

The OHP says the pickup pulling a trailer was eastbound and the car was westbound. Troopers say the driver of the car struck the truck's trailer after the pickup driver took evasive action to avoid a potential head-on crash.

They say the impact caused the trailer to detach and both vehicles to spin, before both went off the highway.

The crash happened about three miles west of Claremore near Keetonville Hill.

The Limestone Fire Protection District is one of the fire departments which responded to the crash.

Drivers who used the highway between Claremore and Owasso were being detoured around the crash scene.

All lanes of Highway 20 re-opened around 10:15 a.m.
