Tulsa investigators are trying to determine the cause of an abandoned hours fire early Wednesday.
The fire department got the call just after 2:30 a.m. to the home in the 3100 block of East Latimer Street.
A neighbor shot video of the fire showing flames shooting out of the roof and catching some trees on fire.
The house has a lot of damage – siding is hanging off the side of the house and there is a sea of debris. Firefighters had to throw things out in order to get in the house, but it still burnt to the brim.
Firefighters spent a couple hours dealing with the flames. They said the home was abandoned and no one was inside, but neighbors said they saw someone near the home shortly before the fire.
The Tulsa Fire Department said they’re still not sure what caused the fire.
Neighbors said they’ve never seen a fire that big.
“When I heard the glass breaking, I was like, ‘No, I’m gonna step back. I don’t need to get hurt.’ I was playing it smart because you have to, because you can’t just go near it or save it. You have to let the professionals go do it,” one neighbor said.
Other neighbors said they’ve seen suspicious activity at the home in the past.
