A Walgreen’s was robbed Saturday night and the suspect is still on the run.
Police say that just before 7:30 the Walgreen’s at 31st and Harvard was robbed by what employees thought was an armed man. The suspect confronted a pharmacy technician and demanded Oxycodone. According to the victim, the man’s hands were in his pockets but appeared to have a weapon of some kind.
Employees told the suspect that they could not access the vault, at which the suspect jumped over the counter demanding they open whichever safe they could. Police say the suspect took 8 or nine different types of prescription painkillers before fleeing the store. Police estimate he got away with thousands of dollars in medication.
According to Tulsa Police, the suspect is believed to be connected to another attempted robbery which occurred earlier at another Walgreen’s on 31st and Garnett.
Police say the suspect is in his late teens to mid-20’s. He drove away in a gold Dodge 1500 with a paper tag.
The pharmacy will be closed the remainder of the night.
