A new law is intended to prevent convicted sex offenders in Oklahoma from living near their victims.

Governor Mary Fallin signed the “Justice for Danyelle Act” on Tuesday, which will keep offenders from living within 2,000 feet of their victim’s home.

The bill is named for Danyelle Dyer.

The man who molested her had moved in right next door with his mother in what he said was a temporary arrangement.

The bill passed unanimously in both the House and Senate.
