“I wanted it to stop. That’s all I wanted it to do. I wanted it to stop,” declared Susan Dale, a former employee of Main Event.
Dale has now filed a lawsuit against the company claiming discrimination and sexual harassment.
Dale says the only reason for filing a lawsuit is because she wants to make the company change.
Dale has worked as a server on and off for more than 20 years. She was hired by Main Event’s Tulsa location in 2015.
During her time there, Dale claims she and some of her co-workers were harassed by fellow employees and some of the management.
“It got to the point that the manager over my department was doing a lot of it and they never did stop him,” stated Dale.
According to the complaint, Dale was made fun of and taunted with sexual jokes and comments, sometimes even being physical.
The complaint states that one employee “approached plaintiff and slapped her on the butt.” It goes on to say the employee told others, “you most likely will see my handprint. I hit her hard!”
That same person allegedly asked Dale whether she had gotten “laid” in a while and if “people her age had sex.”
Dale says she went to her managers and human resources, but the harassment didn’t stop.
“I saw other females and males taking it too and we would say something and nothing would be done,” stated Dale.
Dale says she just wants the problem fixed.
A representative from Main Event says the company has emphatically denied all of the claims in Dale’s complaint and stated that the company’s police is, and always has been, to treat all employees with dignity and respect. The representative also said that there would be no further comment because this is ongoing litigation.
This is the first lawsuit of this nature filed against Main Event that we are aware of.
