Tulsa Public Schools will be out of class on Monday with teachers leaving to rally at the state Capitol, but community members held rallies at several Tulsa Public Schools Friday morning. One of those rallies occurred outside Kendall Whittier Elementary.
Parents and students cheered on teachers as they entered school.

Similar rallies were held Friday at Sequoyah Elementary and Will Rogers High School.

TPS announced Thursday afternoon it will still walk out Monday, even though the legislature voted for a nearly half-billion dollar education package that Governor Mary Fallin signed Thursday.

Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist say she still wants to see a plan for funding and pay raises for years to come.
