New Tributes To Leon Russell In Tulsa

A new tribute to Oklahoma music legend Leon Russell is now on display.

A mural of Russell takes up an entire outside wall at Hale Factor near 4th Street and Norfolk Avenue.

The owner says he reached out to his friend and local artist Josh Butts to create the tribute.

It was finished in just three hours.

Another tribute to Russell is being planned by a different group, who are trying to raise money to build a permanent monument in Russell’s honor at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The design includes a black granite grand piano plus black granite benches for visitors.

A GoFundMe page is set up to raise $42,000 for the monument.
