Investigators are working to find out what caused a house fire in a north Tulsa that neighbors have been concerned about.

Firefighters said whoever called in the fire Monday morning did it just in time for flames to be put out before they spread to other houses.

By the time firefighters got to the home in the 4800 block of North Iroquois, smoke and flames were billowing from the front of the house.

They said it appeared someone was using the home for storage and no one was inside when firefighters go on scene around 5:15 a.m.

Firefighters spent hours pulling debris into the front and back yards, hosing down anything that could rekindle.

Neighbor Amanda Jensen said she was planning to call the City about the house because there had been so much trash piling up on the property.

Jensen said when she woke up to the smell of smoke she was afraid her house was on fire.

"I went around to my kitchen because that is where all my appliances are. I was like, ‘Is it my house,’ and then I looked out the door and saw smoke," she said.

Investigators were on the scene but the cause of the fire hasn't been determined yet.
