As fires continue to burn across Oklahoma, five other states are sending reinforcements.

According to the Oklahoma Forestry Services Facebook page, “additional firefighting crews are arriving from state forestry agencies in Louisiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. These resources, plus 13 federal fire suppression aircraft, and prepositioned to deploy quickly and keep fire size small.”

In Okmulgee County, crews are working to protect some structures.

Emergency Manager Tim Craighton said the fire near Beggs is close to structures but they have trucks nearby.

The Oklahoma Forestry Services said fire suppression aircraft have been dispatched to that fire.

Aircraft were also sent to a fire northwest of Skiatook in Osage County.

Eleven fire departments continued to fight a wildfire early Thursday along the Osage/Washington County line.

The fire which started earlier this week has burned more than 800 acres.

Washington County Emergency Management Director Kary Cox says firefighters are running low on supplies and they are seeking donations of Gatorade as well as cash to pay for fuel and equipment repairs.

Green Country isn’t the only area of Oklahoma dealing with fires.

In Oklahoma City, fire crews are trying to extinguish a fire near Kelley, between East Hefner Road and East Britton Road that spread to at least one house.
