Residents had to evacuate a Tulsa retirement community for about 30 minutes due to a fire Thursday morning.

Tulsa firefighters responded to the Oklahoma Methodist Manor retirement home on 31st Street between Yale and Harvard around 9:30 a.m.

No one was injured.

Fire officials said the fire started on a third-floor balcony and spread to a second-floor balcony.

Inside units were not damage.

Firefighters said the walls in the building helped contain the fire.

"It's critical the safety and security of our community members is of paramount importance. So, I'm really glad the evacuation went smoothly and that the fire department responded so quickly," OK Methodist Manor CEO Steve Dickie said.

The cause is under investigation.
