Dispute Over A Cigarette Leads To Tulsa Man's Assault Arrest

Police arrest a Tulsa man, they say used a knife to stab his girlfriend late Tuesday during a dispute over a cigarette.

Officers say 55-year-old Arnell Chaplin was taken into custody in the 2500 block of East 10th Street at around 10:30 p.m.

Police arrived to find the victim with cuts on her head. They say she ran from the apartment after the assault and called for help.

EMSA took her to the hospital and police say she is expected to be OK.

Police say Arnell was drunk when they found him nearby. 

Arnell Chaplin was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints including assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
