Brittany Payne Wright pleaded guilty Tuesday to intentionally running over and killing a woman at a midtown apartment complex in 2016.
Wednesday, a judge sentenced her to 35 years in prison. The first-degree charge was dropped to second-degree.
Police say Brianna Dean was walking with Payne Wright's ex-boyfriend in the 5000 block of East 47th Place September 2.
Payne got into an argument with the couple then drove up onto the grass and struck Dean. She told police the victim threatened to shoot her during the argument and reached into her purse.
Payne's then 10-year-old daughter was in the back seat at the time of the homicide.
