A Muskogee church is damaged after the pastor says a semi hit it and drove off.
Little remains of Community Church's main entrance after It was ripped off and now the church has been left with the bill.
Roger Pratt has been the pastor at Muskogee's Community Church for nearly 40 years.
He said large semi trucks sometimes try and turn around in the church's parking lot.
"Sometime it just doesn't work out. They catch the building," Pratt said.
But he said he's never seen anything like this.
"We've had them hit before, it wasn't this bad," Pratt said.
Pratt said he thinks sometime between 8 and 10 p.m. Wednesday, a large semi either hit the building head-on or back into it, tearing off the front entry way.
"Just looking at the tire marks that we have here, in this area it looks like they were trying to turning around," Pratt said.
"Almost shed the tears this morning, I really had to hold them back," Pratt said.
And since the church doesn't have insurance, they will need to find a way to pay for the damage, unless the person responsible comes forward. But instead of being angry, Pratt said he forgives whomever did this.
All he wants is for the person or persons to come forward and help.
"We're gonna worship and praise the lord and celebrate his birth Sunday just like nothing happened," Pratt said.
The church will be holding services in another building.
If you want to help in any way, contact the church at 918-683-9111.
