Car crash survivor Izzy Kitterman is coming home in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Izzy was injured July 17, 2017, in a Purcell wreck that killed four people including her brother and sister.
Izzy has undergone surgeries and has been rehabilitating her injuries for several months at a Bethany hospital. On both her Facebook fan page and the TSC Hurricane soccer page, it shows she's expected home around 4:30 p.m. They're asking family and friends to line the streets near 101st and Delaware started at 4 p.m. to welcome her home.
"She is excited for the next chapter and to be home with family," said an entry on her Facebook support page, Spreading and Sharing Love for Izzy Kitterman.
Her family says her stamina and independence is improving daily.
Izzy's Facebook page now has about 23,000 followers, and it's updated regularly. One post said the staff at the hospital in Bethany is going to miss her - they liked her so much they asked her to light the hospital Christmas tree.
We checked the Kitterman/Edwards GoFundMe that was set up, and it's over $90,000.
