The first day of a first-degree murder trial has wrapping up in Sapulpa.
Prosecutors said the man on trial is responsible for the child abuse death of a 3-year-old boy.
The question is whether the death of Jason White was from abuse and if so, who was responsible.
Christopher Whinery is on trial, accused of slamming the child's head against something that caused a fatal skull fracture and brain injury and broken neck.

Jason was a week from his 4th birthday when he died, and Monday in court a medical examiner said his injury was devastating, like falling from a three-story window, and not from jumping off the bed which was the first explanation.
Whinery was the boyfriend of the child's mother, Rebekah White. White also faces a murder charge but won't go to trial until next year.
