Thousands of people are headed to the BOK Center to see country superstar Jason Aldean, and Thursday's concert is his first since a gunman opened fire, killing 59 people and injuring more than 500 last week while Aldean was on stage.

Thousands of people will converge on the BOK Center and police will be at the venue to keep concertgoers safe.

Tulsa Police said they are expecting more than 7,000 people here tonight.

Officers will be outside providing traffic and crowd control and some off-duty officers will also be inside working for the BOK Center.

Tulsa Police said for every concert they look at the anticipated crowd size, whether the concert is being held on a weekday or weekend along with other factors.

From there, they decide whats needed.

Thursday night, Capt. Brian Carlisle said they will have extra officers out because of the Vegas shooting.

He said their officers are well trained and prepared for anything.

He said it's also important to understand that these Officers here tonight do not take away from officers in other parts of the city, I spoke to the BOK Center a short time ago.

While they declined to go on camera, they do say that Thursday for them is business as normal.

The concert will no doubt be an emotional night for Jason Aldean and his fans.

News On 6 will have concert coverage and fan reaction tonight at 9 and 10.
