Oologah police are still looking for a person of interest in a burglary at the high school earlier this week.

The football athletic building and locker room were burglarized while players were at practice.

Oologah Talala Public Schools say that Oologah Police are still looking for that person who stole money and wallets while students were practicing on Monday afternoon.

Assistant Superintendent Tony Sappington says the thief was able to get into the athletic building for just a little bit.

"He went into the football coaches office and stole some cash from the wallet of one of our coaches and also made his way into the locker room and stole football players wallets and cash,” said Sappington.

He says during that time, trainers saw the man, didn't recognize him and alerted coaches. The man didn't damage anything.

Oologah Police say they're on the lookout for a silver Jeep without a bumper with aftermarket wheels.

"We're gonna look into locking more doors and making only a couple accessible,” said Lt. Brent Holmes.

And while police haven't identified the person of interest, they are advising students and others who had items stolen to take precautions and cancel credit and debit cards.

"It would be great if he would turn himself into the police department and we could move forward,” said Sappington.

He says although they have a campus officer, this should serve as a learning experience for students to keep an eye out for one another.

"You know if you see something say something,” said Sappington. “That is important for us to teach them, but we take it seriously, the security of the campus.”
