Facebook Users Experience Downtime Of Popular Website

Thousands of people flocked to other forms of social media Wednesday morning to report that social media website Facebook was down, which quickly prompted the creation of a #facebookdown hashtag.

Many took to Twitter to share their experiences October 11 as they tried to access Facebook, many receiving error messages or messages on the login screen stating that 'Facebook will be back soon.'

Others tweeted about how Facebook should tweet about the outage.

Many News On 6 staff weren't able to access the website Wednesday morning, but some were able to access the site.

As of 11:33 a.m., Facebook had yet to issue any information or a statement about an outage or to confirm if the website was actually down and why.

Others tweeted about how Facebook should tweet about the outage.
