Oklahoma State football is back at it this week; it's homecoming week in Stillwater and the Cowboys resume conference play this weekend.
The state of the conference was just a part of Mike Gundy's news conference Monday.
The Cowboys used the end of their off week by taking a break, after a Wednesday workout the players didn't reconvene until Sunday.
It’s chance for some injured starters to heal.
Big 12 results show that teams in the league are beating up on each other, for the most part, and the head coach was asked if that helps when it comes to the college football playoff possibilities.
"Well it's easier to get into the playoff if you're undefeated,” said Gundy. “We all know that. And then how the committee sees our league this year will be different in my opinion than it has in the last few years. If Kirby is worth his salt at all, he should get that accomplished in that committee."
That Kirby is Kirby Hocutt, Texas Tech's athletic director and the chairman of the playoff committee, and there's a lot of football left before the real arguments take place.
In the meantime, the Cowboys have a homecoming date with Baylor Saturday, and they'll try to snap a three-game losing streak in the series.
