A major project in downtown Tulsa could be a little different than expected. The plan initially called for a Reasor’s grocery store, but now it doesn’t.
The overall plan for the parking lot at 2nd and Cincinnati is staying the same, but which grocery store is coming is now a mystery.
The latest rendering of the plan no longer shows a Reasor's logo, but the developer said it is still possible Reasor's will be a part of the project.

Reasor's said it's evaluating the downtown market, adding the store at 15th and Lewis serves much of the grocery need for people who live downtown.
Heather Jones stays downtown whenever she visits her mom and shops at the Reasor's at 15th and Lewis. She's looking forward to having a grocery store downtown, whether it's a Reasor's or not.
“It would just be nice to have a grocery store down there,” Jones said. "She stays in Gilcrease Hills, so she could just go straight down Denver."
Developer Flaherty & Collins said in a statement:
“We are moving forward aggressively to get the project completed as planned, which still includes a 32,000-square foot grocery store. It has been our intent and goal to have an urban format Reasor's store at this location from day one of this project. However, if we can't complete a deal with Reasor's to be part of the project, fortunately, we are working with another first-class grocery operator that has an exciting concept that would fit into the development perfectly."
Reasor's says in a statement:
“Reasor’s continues to evaluate the downtown market along with other growth opportunities around the metro area. Current market information shows that the existing store at 15th & Lewis services much of the grocery need for downtown residents with sufficient capacity to handle the additional projected residential growth. We continue to communicate with Flaherty and Collins regarding their proposed development but because we do not have any definitive agreement in place, we have mutually agreed that the Reasor’s name not be used with any representations of the project."
"They're just evaluating, but it could still be a Reasor's. It could be somebody else. We just don't know. But, whatever it is, there will be a grocery store in the development," said PAC Trustee, Ken Busby.
The earliest timeline for breaking ground would be early next year. Construction would take about two years.
The plans still include 240 apartment units and a parking garage in the lot.
