Some Pawnee County firefighters had a close call while working a wreck during Wednesday night's flooding rainfall. Firefighters from the Jennings Rural Fire Department tell us they were working a wreck on the Cimarron Turnpike that was caused by flooding when another car failed to stop in time.

That vehicle crashed into a North 48 Fire Department engine that was blocking the original accident scene.

"It saved about seven of us from getting hurt," a firefighter told News On 6.

Firefighters responded during the flash flooding as Pawnee County roads were under water - and some that were washed out. Jennings took a photo of 5750 Road about a mile and a half west of Terlton that was closed by flooding.
