A 56-year-old Florida woman died in a collision Monday evening on I-40 in Muskogee County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.
Troopers say a 2012 Chrysler 200 was exiting the Muskogee Turnpike onto I-40 eastbound near mile marker 287 at an unsafe speed and struck the side of a semi shortly after 8 p.m. on September 25.
The Chrysler then left the road to the right and rolled one and a half times before coming to a rest on the driver's side, the trooper's report states.
Yvonne Joyner of Dover, Florida, was a passenger in the Chrysler 200 that was driven by 37-year-old Christopher Joyner, also of Dover. Yvonne Dover was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers say. Christopher Joyner was taken by Pafford EMS to a Muskogee hospital where he was treated and released.
The driver of the 2016 Freightliner, Adrian Russell of Lake Havasu, Arizona, was not injured.
Yvonne Joyner wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
