Services Set For 5 NSU Students Killed In Wreck

Services are planned for the five Northeastern State University students who died September 17, 2017, in a Cherokee County crash.

Donovan Caldwell, Jessica Swartwout, Drake Wells, Lily Murphy and Rhianna Seely died when the truck they were in plunged over a rural bridge near Tahlequah, OHP said. 

Jessie Swartwout, 18, was valedictorian at Indianola School. She was studying pre-med in at NSU. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, September 21 in Indianola. Read her obituary.

Arkansas resident Lily Marie Murphy, 18, will be laid to rest Thursday, September 21 in Gentry, Arkansas. She was a cheerleader at Gentry High School. See her obituary.

Drake Wells was senior class president, vice president of the FFA and a National Honor Society member at Thackerville High School. He died on his 19th birthday.
