Judge Rules Iron Gate Can Build New Tulsa Soup Kitchen Downtown

Iron Gate plans to resume their effort to build a new soup kitchen downtown, after a Judge ruled the City of Tulsa didn’t have the right to block their plans.

Judge Rebecca Nightingale ruled for the charity, which sued the Board of Adjustment after it ruled against their zoning request.

Iron Gate Director Carrie Vesely Henderson said the organization is ecstatic with the decision. She said everything is still in place for Iron Gate to buy the land and build the new soup kitchen.

The charity has been operating from the basement of Trinity Episcopal Church, serving meals to Tulsa's homeless and working poor.
