Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Okmulgee County.
The deputy shot two people after a driver charged at him with a vehicle Saturday morning, OSBI Spokeswoman Jessica Brown said.
Those people — the driver and the passenger — were released from a hospital and one of them has been arrested, Brown said.
"The suspect in the vehicle was going down a road, turned into a private drive, turned around in that private drive, and actually drove toward the officer," Brown said.
That's when the deputy fired his weapon several times, hitting both people inside the car, Brown said.
The pursuit ended in the area of Gun Club Road and Mission Road.
"The driver of the vehicle involved in the pursuit, Chris Culberson, was injured several times when he was shot in the chest. The female passenger was injured in her leg," Brown said.
The deputy also hurt his ankle.
Culberson had several gun shot wounds to the chest and was taken to a local hospital.
The passenger was hit one time in the leg and she was treated and released, Brown said.
Culberson has since been arrested. The woman was not arrested.
"We will also gather every bit of evidence we can from that crime scene and we put it all into a very, comprehensive report to give to the district attorney," Brown said.
