A Sapulpa native is expanding her growing business in the city she grew up in. The company has potential to bring thousands of jobs and a corporate headquarters to Sapulpa.
SeneGence recently purchased 226 acres in Sapulpa, and they are planning on finishing it in four phases.
"We are excited that Jonie decided to come back home and we just want to keep growing as fast as we can," said Mark Lawson with SeneGence International.
Jonie Rogers-Kante is the founder of SeneGence International - the parent company of the popular LipSense line.
She grew up in Sapulpa and opened the call center there almost one year ago, but the demand for her products means a demand for more space and more employees.
"We are looking at hundreds and thousands of jobs out there when it is all complete,” Lawson said. "First and foremost, we want to get our operations underway - which is our manufacturing and distribution. Then we can supply our distributors with the product they need for their customers."
They own the land and had it annexed into Sapulpa city limits.
Next, a sewer line is needed to support an operation that large.
"With a plant that size, and with the amount of people and the amount of production we are planning to do, we needed city sewer," Lawson said.
SeneGence isn't locking in on an exact number of jobs it could bring or specific impact on the community, but if the growth continues, options could include restaurants and a hotel.
"A lot of ideas are going around and we want to make it as beautiful and functional as possible," said Lawson.
The warehouse portion of it is set to be completed in the second or third quarter of 2018.
